IT STARTED WITH CHICKEN ADOBO.
That idea is personal for our founder, Christy Serrato.
One day, Christy was at home while her mother, Betty, was making Chicken Adobo, a beloved Filipino dish built around vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, bay leaf, and black pepper.
Christy wondered:
What wine would go with this?
Finding the answer wasn't easy.
Traditional wine recommendations often focused on familiar cuisines, established pairings, and conventional wine terminology. But food—and the people who enjoy it—is far more diverse.
Christy realized there was a bigger opportunity:
What if wine recommendations started with the person, rather than the bottle?
What if you could discover wine based on the foods you love, the flavors you enjoy, the occasions you're celebrating, and the experiences that make wine meaningful to you?
That question became the inspiration for PairAnything.
What began as a personal search for a wine to enjoy with her family's food grew into a vision for making wine discovery more personal, approachable, and relevant to more people.
And today, that vision is helping wine businesses create better ways for their customers to discover—and confidently choose—their wines.

The creation of PairAnything was developed from a deeply personal experience where the founder, Christy Serrato’s mother was making Chicken Adobo and she asked herself, what wine would pair well the favored dish from her Filipino heritage. Because she couldn’t find the answer easily, Christy decided she would create a platform that could help people like her discover the wonderful world of wine.
